Milwaukee 12 Inch Dual-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw - 6955-20: Trim SLider For The Pro's!!!
This saw has been absolutley flawless on the job. When doing highend trim, it cuts effortlessly and flawlessy thru all types of matierials. The miter adjust feature comes in extra handy when making ever so slight adjustments when cutting crown or whatever. The built in lights are also great for the jobs without any lights hooked up. It sure makes the cut line much more visible. The dust extraction also is so much better than my previous saws (Hitach, Bosch, Makita ). Having a large paddle to make your bevel adjustments is great and with positive stops as well , helps speed things up on the job. The Constant Power cutting on the saw is remarkable to clean cut through 2x12 and 4x4 posts. Overall i can say that this saw will do everything, and everything very very well. Well done Milwaukee for building a truly awesome SAW>!!!

Hitachi CW40 16" Variable Speed Scroll Saw: Problematic Hitachi CW-40
I bought the Hitachi CW-40 to do a quick small project that I had been commissioned for. I am a professional woodworker and this is at least my 3rd scroll saw. The saw had adequate power to cut through the 1/2" MDF I was using at the time. The saw was quiet and it passed the nickel test for vibration. Installing pin blades is a little akward but I was ok with it. I did not expect this saw to be an upper end saw or expect to perform like one and it didn't. There are what I consider to be 2 MAJOR PROBLEMS with the Hitachi CW-40. 1. This saw will not accept a standard spiral blade. I tried just about everything. The blade either broke, bent, kinked, or slipped, every single time. My feeling is that a spiral blade is not a new invention, or rare, or even uncommon and this saw should be able to accept spiral blades without a problem just as a lot of cheaper scroll saws do, such as the Delta or Ryobi products. I can only credit this problem to poor design. 2. I tried contacting Hitachi customer service about the spiral blade problem. They had NO SOLUTIONS, NO SUGGESTIONS, NO RETROFIT BLADE CLAMPS, and gave me no indication that they were interested in helping me solve the problem with my brand new saw. Poor customer service is inexcusable. The bottom line is that this is an ok saw if you never want to install a common spiral blade or if you never have a need for customer service. Otherwise, don't buy this saw.

Werner AP-20-MP6 Work Platform: Light Weight, Afforadable, Alternative to a Drywal
This bench is handy for more than just standing on. Mine is often found holding my radio and circular saw, or my toolbox. Definitively a back saver. I've also often used it as a saw bench. It does have the benefit of a larger reach area than a ladder, allowing me to work on six foot sections up to about eight feet, with out having to reposition. It's not as sturdy or as adjustable as a drywallers bench, but then again it's not as heavy as one either. It's light weight makes it very appealing to me, I don't have any hesitation grabbing it. This bench is a light duty bench, it has a weight rating of 225 lbs. It has worked well for me. I don't really like the way that this bench latches, it has a pin and latch mechanism that has some slop in it. It isn't noticable when there is weight on the bench, but it doesn't inspire confidence either. This bench is not good for any heavy pushing or pulling at height, latterly or perpendicularly.

Bosch Self Leveling Cross-line Laser - GLL2-50: Great laser
This is a great laser for any indoor leveling needs. I was able to buy it on sale for a good price, but after using it a few times I can see that it is worth paying full price. The laser is not bright enough for outdoor use, but this is not a problem for me. It doesn't do a full 180 degrees like some other lasers, but I never found this to be a problem. Probably one of the best features of the laser is the included stand. It has a magnetic back that can be mounted, a tripod mount on the bottom, and it can also be used on a table top. It also has a rack & pinion type up and down adjustment, that really comes in handy.

Master Force 2 HP Router: Masterforce router combo kit
Shelf cost of $119.98 total cost including tax $128.38 purchased 8/3/09 produced under the name Masterforce which from my understanding is a Menards exclusive product. As an ex-employ of a company who produced raw panels for raised panel cabinet doors to furniture of all conceivable types made from all sorts of exotic hard woods you might say that I've seen it all and it would be an understatement to say that I got spoiled from working with some massive woodworking boy toys in that time as well. In between that time I've changed jobs and am self employed working in the trades from painting to carpentry,to gutters and siding but I fell in love with the hobby of woodworking and one of my interest is luthiery work or guitar building and repair.Which when I build an electric guitar its necessary to have a good router. If I had a dollar for every time I have heard the old saying don't scimp on tools I'd be rather wealthy(which I am not...)I have always followed this idea of being sure to have the right tools especially with my jobs this I tried to apply to my hobby and all my woodworking habits but in our economy sometimes you have to compromise. While looking into replacing my old single speed craftsman which I never bothered to get a speed control for (which ended in it demise I might add)I looked high and low for something suitable and after a month of looking I decided it was time to go to Menards I had resided to the idea of a single speed fixed base Porter Cable router for $128.98 before taxes. As I went down the isle where the power tools are located I noticed the Masterforce router combo kit,I needed some lumber so I went and bought that and gave some thought to this router combo kit as the pictures I loaded up in the listing for this show this router is not unlike the Porter Cable or a Bosch router, well I decided and purchased the combo. Two days latter I put it through its paces as I had to do so outside the weather had been bad here for a couple days since my purchase, first up was a piece of scrap cedar I had laying around I put in a round over bit and as per the manufactures advice I dropped the speed on the router and cut a nice somewhat burn free round over as my bits are old I feel just the fact that their old and I hadn't used this router but this first time it was a bit of user error and old bits all in all the round over went well. I moved on to pine once again the round over went well this time no burning, then I moved on to the final test and the what I feel to be the test of all routers hard wood for this run I was using ash after two hours of running this thing through different woods a multitude of different router bits and changing from fixed to plunger base I found this router to perform with authority in each task I put it to. As an end set of thoughts if you want a router that is economical but yet performs to some very high standards this router is for you, there were a couple things I noticed that are just slight problems to me but I have to list them, first of all the case this router combo comes in also has a small storage box on the outside its slides into a slot molded into the carrying case. Anyone who uses a router knows that you do not clump you bits together in a box like this as this will ultimately result in damage to your bits cutting edge,I also found the plunger base to feel sort of tight though I rarely use a plunge base for my work and this is something that I'm sure that I can work out by turning a screw. All in all with those two things I would rate this router as a 9.9 out of a rating of 1-10,there you have it now for the specs. Motor:11amp 2.0 HP soft start/variable 6 speed. Base:fixed/plunge Accessories:bit storage box on carrying case/carrying case/edge guide dust and chip collection for both bases(to be hooked up to shop vac etc.) Warranty:5 year/also they offer an extra year warranty but what more could you ask for after five years. Price:$119.98 before taxes. Sorry for such a long winded review hope this helps someone though, and its also worth mentioning that this router has other available accessories if I'm not mistaken I think they even makes a shaper table with its on dog for top side raining and lowering stay tuned for my review of that one.

Forrest Woodworker II 10-Inch 40 Tooth Saw Blade- WW10407125: Best on the market
Fantastic blade. I have been using the same blade in my Bosch 4000 TS for 6 years now and I finally sent it in to be sharpened. I have Freud, Tenyru and other blades but with the exception of the Tenyru the could not match the Forrest. The Tenyru initially gave the same quality cuts as the Woodworker II but dulled within 8 months. I purchased another Woodworker II blade and sent my original back for sharpening (about $25). I have no doubt that it will come back as good as new based on the sharpening job Forrest did on my miter saw blades.

Fast-Cap Old Standby Tape measure: Old Standby Tape Measure
I've owned a couple of these and I love them....until the rubber starts peeling off. Within a year or two the rubber coating on the outside started to peel off leaving little chunks in various places and making the tool less comfortable to work with. I would give up the rubber coating altogether if I could have a hard plastic case that would last longer. I do like to write measurements on the side of it occasionally. Maybe the cell phone rings or somebody walks up. For whatever reason I find it handy to jot down whatever on the side for later use.

MTO Battery: MTO Battery Exceeds My Expectations Again!
I have sent many batteries in to MTO Battery and always come away a happy camper. Many of these battery places are impossible to get on the phone and are slow to answer emails. MTO has always replied to emails in just a few hours and always answers or quickly returns my call. I had tried another company who has a video on YouTube which displays guys dancing around like folks from the movie jackass. I was not impressed with their service and turn-around time and their video was just further proof of the type of people their company is made of. In closing, MTO is a professional battery company which has done a fabulous job rebuilding our power tool batteries and an even better job taking the time to communicate with me to keep me informed each step of the process. They get my unconditional recommendation for anyone with battery repair needs.
